For Fishback, writing and acting has always gone hand and hand. She started writing and acting as apart of the MCC Theatre's Youth Company. She is now a playwright in residence at the Abingdon Theater Company where she continues to develop exciting new works. Her writing endeavors are also expanding to include her first Feature length screenplay and her first YA novel.
Dominique Fishback currently stars as “Darlene” in HBO’s critically acclaimed drama series THE DEUCE. Fishback has received outstanding reviews for her break-out performance, which reunites her with David Simon. Previously, she starred as “Billie Rowan” in Simon’s HBO miniseries SHOW ME A HERO. Fishback has recently wrapped production on FOX's feature film THE HATE U GIVE, which is based on the best-selling young adult novel of the same name. She is also making her feature film debut as the leading role of Angel in "Night Comes On" directed and co-written by Jordana Spiro, which premieres at Sundance 2018. Last but not least check her out in JAY-Z music video for "Smile" where she protrays the rapper's mother in the 1970's.
